On 10 March 2014, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Member of the EC in charge of Research, Innovation and Science, attended the Second Innovation Convention, organised by the EC in Brussels. She visited the exhibition wearing Google glasses. The Innovation Convention is an essential part of the Innovation Union flagship initiative, the EU strategy which aims to create an innovation-friendly environment.
