On Friday, the 14th of March, the European Ministers of Transport met in Brussels.
First, the Council has been asked to agree on a general approach regarding a proposal intended to define new tasks to be carried out by the European Railway Agency. The draft regulation is part of the fourth railway package.
The Council was also expected to adopt its position on a proposal aimed at setting up a public-private partnership called Shift2Rail joint undertaking, which will manage a research and innovation work programme to support the development of better rail services in Europe. Lastly, ministers have hold a policy debate on a Commission Communication, "Together towards competitive and resource-efficient urban mobility".
