On Tuesday the 10th of December, the EPSCO Council will exchange views on two draft regulations concerning medical
devices. Ministers will also adopt conclusions on the "Reflection process on modern, responsive and sustainable health system".

||SOUNDBITE by Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis, Lithuanian Minister for Health and President in office of the Council (In ENGLISH) saying that: I expect very fruitful and constructive meetings in which we will discuss various topics including the following: First, the adoption of draft conclusions on sustainable health systems indicating integrated medical care and solidarity. Second, a progress report on medical devices to foster innovation and competitiveness of Europe and of course to assure a highest standard of patience safety. Third, summary presidency information on clinical trials regulation to foster innovation of European Union and competitiveness and of course patient accessibility to modern treatment, state of play of negotiations with regards of the tobacco product directive which prevent youth smoking and have perspective for tobacco free Europe. In our presidency, we stress very important fundamental principles such as health in all policies which requires inter governmental and inter sector approach and of course health as an investment especially in time of austerity but not as an expenditure. The EU Health Ministers have ahead those co principles and I believe we will have a good results of our solid cooperation.
