On 2 December 2013, Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, visited Bratislava, Slovakia.
He participated in the dismantling ceremony of the Old bridge of Bratislava, Starý most. The dismantling and reconstruction of the bridge will be done with the financing support of EU regional investments in order to improve navigability on the Danube River.
Johannes Hahn also met with Ján Počiatek, Slovak Minister for Transport, Construction and Regional Development, and with Ľubomír Vážny, Slovak Deputy Prime Minister for Investment. At a joint press conference with Ľubomír Vážny, Johannes Hahn announced the adoption by the Commission of EU co financing for two major road projects that are part of the Trans European Transport Network.
