||SOUNDBITE (in English) by Dacian Ciolos, Member of the EC in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development: In the context of this reform, we have taken into account of the varied situation in the different member states so this overall family farming model in all this diversity can be taken in account by member states in ensuring its existence because family farming can provide solutions for the European food sectors, not just in producing food and supplying the market but also in terms of the social aspects which are increasingly important. Creating jobs, maintaining jobs in rural areas in many member states facing economic difficulties, this is the only sector which is creating jobs in this moment.
||SOUNDBITE (in English) by Paolo DE Castro, Chair Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament I would like to underline that for the European Parliament we don’t want to touch anything from the agreement of the 26 June. We are proud of this agreement but as you know there is a part of this agreement under brackets that we need to negotiate, we need to complete it, otherwise there is a risk and we want to avoid a risk in a future that the Council can decide what are the items that will be negotiated or not. The Parliament will show the maximal flexibility I thee trialogue.
||SOUNDBITE (in English) by Vigilijus Jukna. Lithuanian Agriculture Minister: In the cours of this meeting we concluded that family farms are a significant agricultural model in the EU. Obviously the model varies from one country to another depending in several factors.
