On 16 July, Valentinas Mazuronis, Lithuanian Minister of Environment welcomed the EU Environment Ministers and Janez Potocnik, Member of the EC in charge of Environment, on the occasion of the the informal meeting of Environment Ministers in Vilnius, Lithuanian.
Informal meetings of the ministers for environment are used to come up with effective solutions on issues of climate change, quality of environment, preservation of natural resources and other environmental issues relevant to the entire EU.
Informal meeting of ministers on environment discussed issues on funding of implementation of objectives and actions under EU biologic diversity strategy up to 2020, as well as issues of climate change and extraction of shale gas.
