On 10 July, Linas Linkevicius, Lithuanian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Vytautas Leskevicius, Lithuanian Minister for European Affairs, presented the Lithuanian Presidency priorities. In his presentation, Linas Linkevičius underlined that the priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council include a credible, growing and open Europe. Linas Linkevičius said that the Lithuanian priorities of the Presidency take into consideration the priorities of the preceding Presidencies and aim at continuing the work that has already been started. The Minister stressed the issues of financial discipline, unemployment, especially youth unemployment, energy security and the Eastern Partnership.

I have no doubt that it will be continued during the Greek presidency because we already adopted our trio program in December last year. It has to do with the same issues: growth, jobs and the same challenges which are credible Europe, growing Europe. And very briefly, just to mention that credible Europe, we consider first of all, financial discipline, as all efforts to be right in banking Union, monetary Union, single resolutions, mechanism and everything to pull together all resources to make sure that we are really in a credible financial stable environment, that we can cope with the crisis.
