00:00:05 SOUNDBITE by Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, (in ENGLISH) saying that the negotiations started on 8 July 2013 in Washington; they will be discussing the whole week through at technical level; they have decided to continue with the talks; the reason why they are holding these negotiations is that it is good for Europe because that will result in more jobs and growth and help us out of the economic crisis, which would be good news for Europe but for the rest of the world as well; saying that he is not going to speculate on what exactly will be the time span and what exactly can be achieved in that period of time; it would be a very good message to the whole of the world economy; whether they will succeed to do everything before the end of 2014, we will see; they are going to face a lot of problems but if they reach an agreement, it will be a historical one. 00:02:01
