On 13 June 2013, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received the visit of Aníbal Cavaco Silva, President of Portugal, at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium. On this occasion, they discussed Portugal's current economic crisis and the financial adjustment measures being currently undertaken to get the country back on the path of growth and economic recovery. Discussions took place in the light of the upcoming European Council at the end of June 2013.
