On 4 May 2013, on the occasion of the EU open door day 2013, Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, and Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Inter-Institutional Relations and Administration, inaugurated of the new Visitors' Centre of the EC. The centre located just in front of the Berlaymont building will allow all citizens to discover the concrete actions of the European Commission. It allows groups to get information on how functions the EU Commission. It offers some modern facilities like interactive panels or better educational information sheets.

It is really in the centre; they would see the people coming here to work.
