The Heads of State or Government gathered in Brussels on 23 May 2012 for an informal Council meeting. José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, and Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, held a press conference following the meeting. They presented the three pillars which need to be focussed on: mobilisation of EU policies to fully support growth, efforts to finance European economies through investments, and strengthening job creation.
