Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta has delivered a formal address to MEPs today. Mr Keïta was sworn in as President in September, after winning a second round of presidential elections on 11 August 2013. The EU training mission, EUTM, has provided cooperation which is already taking shape: there are three battalions of the Malian army that are now deployed and operational".

Those who had tried to challenge this are now in prison, and that's how it will be now in Mali. And we are establishing a policy of zero tolerance against corruption".

I have instructed the government to put in place a dialogue truth and reconciliation committee and I say this thinking of what is going on today in the Soweto stadium, on how that great man has been an example for us".
