The Committee on Transport and Tourism voted today on Carlo FIDANZA (EPP, IT), report on Deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure
The legislative proposal on clean power for transport aims to facilitate the development of a single market for alternative fuels for transport in Europe. In so doing, a widespread commercial uptake of alternative fuels in the European Union would be encouraged.

||SOUNDBITE (English) by Carlo FIDANZA, (EPP, IT) EP Rapporteur, "Yes I am very happy , this is a big start for the negotiations with the Council , I hope that we could find a common position in the first reading , in this way we can set realistic but ambitious targets for the development of alternative fuels in the transport field and invest in electricity, natural gases and hydrogen as a new way to do transport in Europe, so this is a very good result for the moment and we hope that also the Member states will also share this position and work together for a cleaner transport in the future."
