Socialist leaders held a meeting before the start of the European Council (27-28 June). June European Council will focus on Economic Policy with three main issues: conclusion of this year's European Semester, including country specific recommendations; evaluation of efforts to boost competitiveness, jobs and growth; progress on the completion of the EU's economic and monetary union, in particular the banking union.
