Take the opportunity to see where MEPs take their decisions every month when the European Parliament opens its doors to the public in Strasbourg, France, on Sunday 19 May. The day has been packed with activities for all ages and it will be a chance to find out more about how the EP works and how it affects people's lives every day. The open day is held to mark Europe Day, which is celebrated every year on 9 May. This year it is dedicated to you as 2013 is the European Year of Citizens.
Visitors have been able to listen to MEPs debate the next theme for the European Year with the European Ombudsman from 11.00 to 12.30 CET in the plenary chamber. People could also take part in one-hour visits of the Louise Weiss building, enjoy mini conferences hosted by different EP departments. There has been also be information stands by political groups, EP departments, the European Central Bank, the European Ombudsman, the Court of Auditors and local associations.
