The third session of the Euronest parliamentary assembly takes place in Brussels from the 27 to the 29 of May. Euronest is entitled to contribute to the strengthening, development and visibility of the Eastern Partnership, as the institution responsible for parliamentary consultation, supervision and monitoring. Euronest brings together MEPs and MPs from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to discuss the region's economic and political issues. The EP delegates 60 members, the Eastern Partners 10 each of them. Belarus for the time being does not take part in the Assembly's activities, due to political reasons.

||SOUNDBITE (English) Jacek PROTASIEWICZ, EP Vice-President: "We are waiting for more deliverance from the Ukrainian side on our key requirements such as judiciary reforms, changes to electoral code, addressing selective justice, in order to progress and secure its success at the Vilnius summit."
||SOUNDBITE (English) Jacek PROTASIEWICZ, EP Vice-President: "We need to encourage our governments and the parliaments we represent to accelerate our efforts and work hard and efficiently to meet the objectives that we have defined together. This is our role as parliamentarians. We should exert effective oversight over our governments and push for necessary reforms. This session of the Euronest parliamentary assembly is our opportunity to also debate about this upcoming summit."
||SOUNDBITE (English) Borys TARASYUK, co-Presidents of the Euronest PA: "What is important that we the members of the Euronest parliamentary assembly keep our eye and finger on what it is important for all of us, that united us. That is the values on which the European Union and Euronest parliamentary assembly is based."
||SOUNDBITE (English) Kristian VIGENIN (S&D, BG): "We have a crucial role to play in enhancing democratic governance, strengthening relations and promoting regional cooperation, better understanding and dialogue while also holding in parallel our executives to democratic account. Beyond that, we are also looking forward to link civil society with its future aspirations. It is with this in mind that we are about to launch our Euronest programme and the seminar for young leaders of the region".
||SOUNDBITE (English) Štefan FÜLE, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy: "The 28 and 29 November of this year Vilnius summit [will take place]. I will say that it would be our aiming at, we are still not there. But our ambition is to deliver on the most far reaching agreement we have ever had with our partners, association agreements including a deep and comprehensive free trade area. In other words, instruments for political association and economic integration."
||SOUNDBITE (English) Štefan FÜLE, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy: "This time we will have not only the association agreement hopefully with Ukraine signed, and initial ones with Moldova, Georgia and Armenia. We will have also hopefully quite a progress to take a note of in the visa liberalization action processes. Some countries will be able to sign the readmission treaties and visa facilitation treaties."
||SOUNDBITE (English) Štefan FÜLE, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy: "We will reach an agreement on an Eastern partner transport network including also a list of priorities projects suitable for financing by the international financial institutions."
||SOUNDBITE (English) Štefan FÜLE, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy: "Please pay attention to the strength of the democratic institutions in your countries, starting with your own, of course. The reforms, the programs, free and fair elections, all of that is extremely important. But unless that you have strong democratic and independent democratic institutions, free from political interference, it would hardly be delivered on your democratic and transformation agenda."
