||SOUNDBITE by Dacian Cioloş (in ENGLISH) concerning that day's vote at the EP: saying that the main issue for him is for the EP to have a negotiating mandate in order to be able to start the trialogues together with the Council; he hopes that the Agriculture Council, the following week, will also have a negotiating mandate so that they can stick to the agenda and start the trialogues; their ambition is to finalize the negotiations and to have a political agreement by the end of June or in July; it is still possible.

||SOUNDBITE by Dacian Cioloş (in ENGLISH) saying that, after a first analysis of the amendments proposed by the EP, his impression is that the EP's position is closer to that of the Commission than the Council; so for him, as a representative of the Commission, it's a good start for a trialogue; when he mentioned the fact that the involvement of the EP in the co-decision process will be positive for the content of the reform of the CAP seems to be confirmed; but, of course, the real negotiation is only going to start.
