00:00:52 SOUNDBITE (English) by Kristalina GEORGIEVA, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation," And for Lebanon and Jordan that kind of increase would mean that their population jumps by 20 to 30% I would like to ask us in Europe, Which of our countries is able to host , police , provide services to 20% more people just within less than a year?" 00:00:29
00:01:21 SOUNDBITE (English) by Kristalina GEORGIEVA, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, "For quite a long time it was the Syrians helping Syrians that has been the buffer against this crisis. This capacity of people to help each other is being severely depleted. I would give you one number because that was a shocking number for me. Aleppo, a city that used to be 2.5 million people used to have 5000 registered doctors. Today there 36 doctors left in Aleppo. " 00:00:31
00:01:52 SOUNDBITE (English) by Kristalina GEORGIEVA, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation," We must generate a new drive , a comprehensive programme to support Syrians and to support the neighbourhood and it is where EU leadership is absolutely paramount." 00:00:17

Out of 1.5 million dollars pledges only half is delivered as of today and therefore we had to voice internationally the need for people to do what they pledged they would do..." 00:00:24
00:03:00 SOUNDBITE (English) by Kristalina GEORGIEVA, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation,"...Russia did not pledge anything, China pledged a tiny amount and we need to voice that and I do urge the UN to be more proactive on kind of naming and shaming because the crisis is out of any proportion" 00:00:25
00:03:25 SOUNDBITE (English) by Kristalina GEORGIEVA, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation," My third and most crucial point at this moment of time concerns the neighbourhood. 00:03:47 SOUNDBITE (English) by Kristalina GEORGIEVA, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation," We will have to do more, we will have to have a comprehensive package of measures and draw in all sources internationally, either bilateral donors, as well as the international financial organizations to do what? to provide humanitarian aid to the refugees, food ,water, shelter, medial care. Second to provide support to the communities in these countries that are hosting refugees and that is absolutely crucial so there are services from waste disposal to water and sanitation to getting police to make sure there is no violence spreading." 00:00:43
