EP President Martin SCHULZ met this morning with Finland's Prime Minister Jyrki KATAINEN, who has visited the EP in Strasbourg to debate on the future of the EU. This visit comes after an invitation of Martin SCHULZ to the Prime Minister, who won the election of his country on April 2011 and assumed office on June 22. His centre-right National Coalition Party became the largest party for the first time in the history of independent Finland. On 2008, he was named the best finance minister in Europe by the Financial Times. After this meeting, Jyrki KATAINEN addressed the MEPs at the Plenary Session.
