||SOUNDBITE (English) by Martin SCHULZ, President of the European Parliament, "What is the EP criticising strongly that now there is a blame game. everybody blames the other to be responsible. This is not in the interest of our citizens, there is a directive of deposit guaranty scheme to take out deposits until 100000 Euros of the strategy for solving the crisis. Now we saw the decision in Cyprus to include also small and middle deposits by 6.6 % until 100000 and 9% above 100000 . this is leading to a lot of mistrust not only in Cyprus but elsewhere in Europe, therefore I hope that we will find as soon as possible in the Eurogroup another solution and we need a European solution, a solution within the EU within the Eurozone, I think we should not show to the outside world that the Europe is unable to solve its own problems within its own structures."
||SOUNDBITE (English) by Martin SCHULZ, President of the European Parliament," We need really a reliable and more coherent kind of governance in the EU, one economic area, one currency , on central bank, and 17 governments in the Eurozone running all governments different directions , this is not feasible and there fore we nee a two step solution, on short term, stabilizing the situation by taking small deposits out, by taking deposit guaranty scheme and finding a solution for the won contribution of Cyprus which is feasible for the Cypriots acceptable for the Member states of the Eurozone and the European Institutions
||SOUNDBITE (English) by Martin SCHULZ, President of the European Parliament," SOUNDBITE (English) by Martin SCHULZ, President of the European Parliament, "What is the highest priority for the EP is that people who, put their money in bank account can be safe and sure."
||SOUNDBITE (German) by Martin SCHULZ, President of the European Parliament," I hope that in the alternative plan by the Cypriot government, there is one possible solution acceptable by all Members of the Eurogroup. We need as soon as possible clarity and stability to avoid that the present manageable debts of Cyprus lead to further destabilisation the Euro area
||SOUNDBITE (German) by Martin SCHULZ, President of the European Parliament," We will find a solution with the Cypriots, I think the Cyprus government knows that being thrown out of the Eurozone will lead to the contrary of what Cyprus wants which is to stabilise Cyprus as a financial healthy area
