arrival and roundtable - extracts from the press point President Martin SCHULZ met today with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam FAYYAD. FAYYAD has came to Brussels in order to participate in the annual spring meeting of the donor coordination group for the Palestinian people This meeting, hosted by EU VP/HR Catherine Ashton, is chaired by Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide. Since its establishment in 1993 the AHLC has served as the principal policy-level coordination mechanism for development assistance to the Palestinian people. The strategic role of the AHLC is to strengthen political efforts to achieve a two-state solution including supporting Palestinian institution building.
