Trilogue on banking supervision:
Lieu: Brussels, Belgium - European Parliament
End production: 19/03/2013 First transmission: 19/03/2013
A three way talk was held today in the EP on the topic of the European Banking Supervision package; a system which aims to be more inclusive, stronger, and that would be able to recognise different types of banks and set a democratic accountability. The EP and the Council of Ministers hope to advance significantly on this package by setting up a Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM, two legislative texts) for credit institutions, topic that was discussed today. Both institutions seem to be close to an agreement on the text amending the regulation establishing the European Banking Authority, however, talks are still necessary to examine the compromise proposals.
Only the original language version is authentic and it prevails in the event of its differing from the translated versions.
