On 14 February 2013, Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, accompanied by Fatma Şahin, Turkish Minister for Family and Social Policies, participated at the Flash-mob in the Berlaymont building on the occasion of the 'One Billion Rising Campaign' for ending violence against women organised by the European Women's Lobby (EWL).

Today they are talking about one Billion people dancing and being mobilized and as the Government of the republic of Turkey, they have been making many efforts in the field of combating violence against women, they have adapted their necessary legislation, they have signed the Council of Europe's Istanbul convention and they have been the first and only country to sign the convention without any reservations at all. Of course legislation is not enough, they need to have mental transformation as well and all these efforts have to be made thanks to the sensitivity of the society and Valentine's Day is the day of love and love requires efforts, patience and compassion so they want the love to increase and the violence to decrease all around the world and she would like to thank them very much for this initiative. 00:01:24
