||SOUNDBITE by Štefan Füle (In English) saying that: I am very happy that this Berlaymont building, place of the European Commission was the place in addition to the hundred and thousand of others across the world on this special Valentine's day to make the point how important is, not only to condemn but to eradicate the violence against women and girls.
||SOUNDBITE by Fatma Sahin (In Turkish) saying that: Today is the 14th of February which is Valentine's Day and it's very important that this event is being held all around the world on Valentine's Day. Today we are talking about one Billion people dancing and being mobilized and as the Government of the republic of Turkey, we have been making many efforts in the field of combating violence against women, we have adapted our necessary legislation, we have signed the Council of Europe's Istanbul convention and we have been the first and only country to sign the convention without any reservations at all. Of course legislation is not enough, we need to have mental transformation as well and all these efforts have to be made thanks to the sensitivity of the society and Valentine's Day is the day of love and love requires efforts, patience and compassion so we want the love to increase and the violence to decrease all around the world and I would like to thank you very much for this initiative.
