EU/Brazil Summit: arrivals of José Manuel Barroso and Herman van Rompuy and round table

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil, took part in the 6th EU/Brazil Summit, which was held in Brasília, Brazil, on 24 January 2013.
Leaders discussed a wide range of topics: international peace and security, including disarmament and non-proliferation, the international financial and economic situation and the G20 process, international trade and the Doha Development Agenda, climate change and the outcomes of the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, energy issues, Mercosur and the on-going negotiations for an EU/Mercosur Association Agreement as well as the EU/CELAC summit in Santiago de Chile on 26-27 January. Leaders also exchanged views on the political situation in the Middle East, in North Africa and in Western Africa. Besides, they took stock of progress in the implementing the strategic partnership, specifically bilateral cooperation in fields such as science, technology and innovation, education, and human rights.
