Visit of Borut Pahor, President of Slovenia, to José Manuel Barroso: arrival and round table

On 9 January 2013, Borut Pahor, President of Slovenia, paid a visit to José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, in Brussels. The presidents discussed current political and economic developments in Slovenia and in the European Union.
One topic on the agenda was the state of the structural reforms in Slovenia. President Barroso encouraged Slovenia to continue with its efforts in accordance with the Country Specific Recommendations which the European Commission published in May 2012. He assured President Pahor that the European Commission's services are available to help Slovenia with their expertise. President Pahor reiterated his strong commitment to the ongoing reform process.
The situation of the euro area in general and prospects for 2013 were also discussed.
