On 11 December 2012, the Court of Justice of the EU rendered its judgment in the case Commission v Spain (C-610/10) on law governing the institutions. On account of failure to comply with a judgment of the Court, Spain is ordered to pay a lump sum of 20 million euro and a daily penalty payment of 50 000 euro until that judgment is complied with.
