On 6 December, Erato Kozakou-Marcoulis, Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, and Mourad Medelci, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, held the final conference of the EU-Algeria Association Council. They announced that developments have been positive over the past 12 months. Decisions on scientific cooperation, agreement on tariff on agricultural and industrial products have been taken. Štefan Füle announced that 'today the Commission decided on two new cooperation programs (on diversification of the economy and in particular the promising sector of fisheries and aquaculture) to support Algeria's reforms and modernization'. The Commission allocates 45 millions of Euros to these programmes.
