||Soundbite by Kristalina Georgieva (in ENGLISH): Burkina Faso like the remaining of the Sahel Region is more often and more severely hit by droughts, by floods; the population today also experiences the impact of the Mali crisis. What we are doing in this part of Burkina which is the Sahel part of Burkina is to fight malnutrition in a way that tackles the problem at its roots but also to build the capacity of local hospital to care for children and have the ability to care for refugees as well. We saw refugees who are already being treated here.

||Soundbite by Kristalina Georgieva (in ENGLISH): Here communities get hit over and over again by droughts. Their capacity to cope weakens every time this happens and unless we work across with agriculture, help, education, social safety nets, they are facing a very dire future. So the conference yesterday is so much connected with the reality here today that I feel we the EU leading on resilience, leading on helping Communities to absorb shocks we are doing our duty to the Region, to the humanity.
