On 3 December 2012, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Member of the EC in charge of Research, Innovation and Science, travelled to Germany, where she visited the Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory. This laboratory is part of the Helmholtz Centre of Dresden-Rossendorf, specialised in advanced technology. She also visited the "Drive Facility SupraTrans II" research programme of the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research.
