On 26 November, the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council (EYCS) will start with the session on Education. In public deliberation, the Council will be briefed by the Presidency on the state of play concerning the proposal for a regulation establishing the "ERASMUS FOR ALL" programme. The Council is expected to reach political agreement on a proposal for a recommendation on the validation of non-formal and informal learning. The Council is also due to adopt conclusions on literacy and on the contribution of education and training to economic recovery and growth. Finally, ministers will have a policy debate on improving teacher quality and status. Over lunch, Education Ministers will have an exchange of views relating to the Copenhagen Process which was launched 10 years ago". The social partners, who are usually involved in a separate event in the Council margins, will on this occasion be invited to the ministerial lunch.
