- in presence of Martin SCHULZ, EP President and Lucinda CREIGHTON, Irish Minister of State for European Affairs,
Lieu: Strasbourg, France - European Parliament
End production: 05/02/2013 First transmission: 05/02/2013
Two regulations were signed today in by Martin SCHULZ, EP President, and Lucinda CREIGHTON, Irish Minister of State for European Affairs. These were a Regulation of the EP and the Council on a EU energy-efficiency labelling programme for office equipment and a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on the approval of agricultural or forestry vehicles.
The first one will implement the recently modified (and prolonged) international agreement with the US on the Energy Star labelling programme for office equipment, which sets two separate product registration systems: one for the products placed on the EU market, which will need to be registered with the EC, and other to the products placed on the US market, that will need to register through third parties under the US Energy Star Programme.
The second one aims to harmonise technical requirements for agricultural and forestry vehicles in order to ensure a high level of both road and occupational safety and environmental protection and to allow a harmonised system of EU vehicle type-approval.
Only the original language version is authentic and it prevails in the event of its differing from the translated versions.
