This afternoon in Plenary , Catherine ASHTON, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, expressed her views about the situation in Mali and paid tribute to France military involvement in Mali. The House discussed what should be done at EU level as regards this military operation and possible reinforcement of the logistic, military, humanitarian capacity in the area. The debate, requested by number of MEPs on Monday, comes after yesterday's UN Security Council meeting on Mali and before an extraordinary Foreign Affairs Council on Thursday.
