||Soundbite by Androulla Vassiliou (in ENGLISH): I sincerely hope that "Les journées de Chypre" will give people a brief but inviting taste of the Island I call Home. I can tell you that Cyprus is deeply honoured to hold the Presidency. The occasion has allowed not only the government, but also the public to demonstrate their commitment to the European Union. Of course, Cyprus has taken over the helm at the most difficult time. The economic and financial crisis has put an enormous strength on our institutions and posed serious questions about our shared future. Only time will tell how well the Cypriot Presidency managed some of these tensions.
