98th plenary session of the Committee of the Regions: highlights of the day

On 29 and 30 November, the Committee of the Regions holds it's 98th plenary session in Brussels. On the first day EC president José Manuel Barroso addressed the plenary to present the European Commission's Work Programme and priorities for 2013. On the second day, amongst others, Rapporteur Nigel Canver presents her opinion on the proposed 7th Environment Action Programme which defines objectives for environmental policy and looks to improve implementation in Europe, thus supporting the Europe2020 objectives. Rapporteur-general Elisabeth Vitouch present a proposal for a Decision of the European Parliament and the Council on the European Capitals of Culture for the years 2020 to 2033. On the same day the CoR rapporteur Rogier van der Sande makes recommendations as regards the EU Strategy towards a sustainable bioeconomy that will also be put to vote.
