Type: Visit to the Commission
End production: 13/11/2012 First transmission: 13/11/2012
On 13 November 2012, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, met with Antonis Samaras, Greek Prime Minister, in Brussels.
Talks followed a positive report released by the troika of international creditors - the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund - on Athens's reform efforts to reduce its debts to a manageable level.
The report is a precondition for Ministers to consider granting Athens next bailout. The report came after the Greek Parliament approved a 2013 budget on 11 November 2012 that introduced additional spending cuts and tax hikes due to come into force in 2014.
