Androulla Vassiliou, Member of the EC in charge of Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, addressed the "Marie Curie Actions in Horizon 2020 - Regional and International Impact" Conference in Nicosia on 5 November 2012. During the conference, she also took part in the Award Ceremony of the first Marie Curie Prize. She handed out the first Award to Dr Claire Belcher, winner of the Marie Curie Prize 2012 for the "Communicating Science" category, the second Award to Dr Sarit Sivan, winner of the Marie Curie Prize 2012 for the "'Innovation and Entrepreneurship" category, and the 3rd Award to Dr Gkikas Magiorginis, winner of the Marie Curie Prize 2012 for the "'Promising Research Talent" category.
