10:02:39 Soundbite by Algirdas Šemeta (in ENGLISH): It must be acknowledged that Customs Officers at our eastern borders have a particularly important job. This is especially the case in Finland, given the scale of EU trade with Russia. This trade is growing year on year resulting great benefits but also more challenges. Since 2010 the EU/Russian strategic framework for customs co-operation has been in place. The aim is to promote trade and economic growth on both sides. It also addresses specific risks linked to these border comers. Again I must praise Finland for its active participation in EU customs co-operation activities with Russia. 00:00:48

10:03:33 Soundbite by Algirdas Šemeta (in ENGLISH): We need to improve exchange of information between our customs authorities and Russian custom authorities in order to, really to facilitate legitimate trade and we will have very soon the conference in Kiev, actually in one week time, where authorities, custom authorities from European but also from neighbouring countries including Russia will meet together and will discuss how to address this issue of exchange of information. 00:00:41
