On 28 September 2012, Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, travelled to Iceland and visited Austurbrú, a recently established support framework for regional development in East- Iceland. On this occasion, he attended a presentation on regional development activities. With Eyrún Björnsdóttir, Manager and Guide at Hike & Bike, Johannes Hahn also visited Mývatn, a touristic destination to discover volcanic and sulfuric waters.
