||SOUNDBITE (English) Martin SCHULZ, EP President: "We discussed some very important items in the relation between the EU and Georgia, especially about the comprehensive free-trade agreement which is important for the EU and for Georgia. In preparing the Vilnius summit on the Eastern partnership, we discussed a very long list of important points to solve on the road until the summit end of 2013. On the problems within the country, we discussed also openly the recent decisions of arrest of some people and everything what is happening in the country should happen in the frame of the full respect of individual rights and the constitutional duties. Prime Minister guaranteed that this is fully respected in the country and finally I highly welcome the commitment of the government to approach the EU as near as possible and to improve on the other hand the relations with Russia; this is for sure an important step in a constructive direction and is our wish that Russia would answer to such a positive approach in a positive way".
