Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, participated in the 14th session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) that was held under the theme "Africa's post Rio+20 Strategy for Sustainable Development" from 10 to 14 September 2012 in Arusha, Tanzania.
Connie Hedegaard held bilateral meetings with Ministers with a view to helping ensure the Doha climate conference becomes a successful milestone on the way to the adoption of a legally binding global climate agreement by 2015. On 14 September, she met with Therezya Luoga Hovisa, Tanzanian Minister for the Environment, and Fatou Ndeye Gaye, Gambian Minister for Forestry and Environment.
