On 4 June 2012, Olli Rehn, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro, received the visit of Pierre Moscovici, French Minister for Economy, Finances and Foreign Trade, in Brussels. On this occasion, both expressed the same policy objectives for Europe: they want growth, employment, and the consolidation of public finances. They want a strong euro and are confident in its future. In this regard, Pierre Moscovici reaffirmed the commitment of France to correct its excessive deficit by 2013.
