||SOUNDBITE (in English) Christine Antorini, Danish Minister for Children and Education and President in office of the Council : I am very pleased to inform you that we agreed on a general approach on Erasmus for all at today's meeting. This is a great step forward in creating a new and improved framework for the future program. And I would like to thank you very much Commissioner for the excellent work you put into this proposal. It has served in a very good starting point for the negotiations in the Council afterwards. And I think that the Presidency's compromised preserved the all simplified framework that the Commission has proposed. But at the same time we have managed to give the youth area a more visible role and also a text which allows room for all educational sectors.
||SOUNDBITE (in English) Androulla Vassiliou, Member of the EC in charge of Education, Culture, Multilingualism: I think there was a very broad consensus among the Ministers regarding the general points of the program. There was a consensus on most of the issues. Although, we, as the Commission reserve our approval before, for obvious reason, because unless the MFF is adopted, we can no commit ourselves before any compromises.

||SOUNDBITE (in English) Androulla Vassiliou: I want to stress that with this program we give a clear signal to our young people that Europe is taking care of the young people, that Europe is for the young people. But moreover I enshrine the life-long approach in the program. We send also a clear message to all the learners, including adults learners as well as learners in formal and informal setting.
||SOUNDBITE (in English) Christine Antorini: Today's meeting, we also agreed on a set of Council's conclusion on the employability of graduates from education and training. In a time of increasing unemployment among Member States, the presidency sees this as a very important message. Imitative in the field of education and training must take into account how they can help foster the employment of young people. The ability to find work is influenced by many factors. But by agreeing on this set of Council's conclusions, the Ministers education has underlined the importance of education and creating employability.
