On 12 March 2012, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received in Brussels the visit of Werner Hoyer, President of the EIB (European Investment Bank) for the first time since his appointment on 1 January 2012.
The discussion focused on ways in which the EIB could help drive economic recovery in Greece, in particular through support to small and medium sized enterprises and key infrastructure projects. Both institutions will look at ways to work together as effectively as possible, which is crucial since they are partners in efforts to underpin investments for growth and job creation in Europe.
