||Soundbite (in ENGLISH) by José Manuel Barroso: I think it is important that during the next Presidency of the Council to get this right: to make clear and to explain to our citizens that we are going through a very challenging period where some structural reforms are in fact very challenging, but that there will be light at the end of the tunnel and that together we should work for growth enhancing reforms in Europe.

||Soundbite (in CYPRIOT) by Demetris Christofias saying that he would like to thank warmly for the position taken on the relations between the European Union and Turkey. We do not want Turkey to stay outside of the EU. What he has said many times is that they support the full accession of Turkey in the European Union with the precondition, of course, that Turkey will materialize its own commitments and obligations vis a vis the EU, the benchmarks and also the agreement with the EU on a customs Union.
