00:00:15 SOUNDBITE (Polish) Tadeusz Nalewajk: Yesterday we had a compromise reached for the quota for Black Sea, and tonight at 3 am, we managed to reach an agreement on Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean. I think that we managed to strike balance between the needs of the fisheries sector and the protection of the stocks, conservation of stocks and managing the limited resources in our seas. 00:00:31

00:00:52 SOUNDBITE (English) Maria Damanaki: We were successful in keeping the long management plans and we have agreed in the way to implement them, in good cooperation, and enforcing the selectivity of our gears, in order to avoid discarding. This is a great success. 00:00:20

00:01:18 SOUNDBITE (English) Maria Damanaki: In some of these cases, we have a problem of not having concrete date from our member states and from our fishermen. This year we have discussed all the stocks, case by case and we have agreed on a better effort in order to have a good delivery of data. I hope next year, the number of the stocks on which we are not going to have good scientific advice will be less. 00:00:36
