Competitiveness Council: extracts from the arrivals and doorsteps

The Industry Council will be chaired by Waldemar Pawlak, Polish Minister of Economy and Barbara Kudrycka, Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education. Industry ministers will be invited to adopt conclusions addressing the implementation of industrial policy across Europe. They will also hear a presentation on the Commission proposal for a Competitiveness and SME (small and mediumsized enterprise) programme 2014-2020. The Council will be invited to exchange views and adopt conclusions on the results of the single market forum and on ways for improving impact assessments along the EU's legislative process. It is also expected to adopt conclusions on customs cooperation with Eastern neighbouring countries. In the afternoon, the Council will continue the examination of files related to the creation of unitary patent protection and of a unified patent litigation system. The Council will adopt a general approach on a draft directive on interconnection of businesses registers.
