"The European Parliament as you know is actively involved in matters to do with refuges, we took part in the negotiations on the joint European Asylum system and we call for its full implementation by end 2012. I would like to mention that in Choucha in Tunisia, there is a camp containing refugees from Libya and refugees from other African countries who are unable to return to their Home countries. EU and the Member states should act on this matter. USA has agreed to take 800 of those refugees, the EU so far only 150, there 3800 of those refugees and at present they are being looked after by the Tunisian authorities. They are living in tents in the open in Tunisia."
||SOUNDBITE (English): Jerzy BUZEK, EP President: "Central and Eastern Europe today 30 years on from the imposition of the Martial law in Poland shows how much has changed. Democracy and Human Rights in Central and Eastern Europe could not have flourished with the help of West-European countries and we think that we need to be helping countries in North Africa and the Western Balkans in the same way in the present day.
