On 15 March 2011, Günther Oettinger, Member of the EC in charge of Energy, participated in the Coordination Meeting of EU Ministers for Energy on nuclear plant situation in Japan, in Brussels. This coordination meeting assessed the consequences of the accident and EU’s state of preparedness in case of similar incidents.
Among participants, there were EU Ministers for Energy, National Nuclear Safety Authorities, as well as Operators and Vendors of Nuclear Power Plants in the European Union.
