On 06/12/2010, Iran and six world powers came to the table to discuss Iranian nuclear activities. The talks in Geneva, the first in over a year, were meant to obtain from Iran the freezing of key nuclear programs.
The meeting formally began shortly after 10 a.m. in the United Nations building in Geneva between delegations of Iran, the European Union, the U.S., Russia, UK, France and Germany. Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, met Saeed Jalili, Iranian Chief Nuclear Negotiator, in the foyer of the conference room.
