In the framework of EU Sustainable Energy Week, the Award Ceremony will reward the winning projects among 272 entries recognised by the European Commission as part of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign from January 2009 to December 2009.
Those projects are ongoing, fully financed and implemented by public and/or private actor(s) in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, clean transport and/or bio-fuels.
The 272 candidates were distributed in the following 5 categories: Sustainable Energy Communities, Market Transformation including voluntary commitments, Promotional/Communication and educational actions and Demonstration and dissemination projects.
An independent Selection Committee, comprising representatives of key energy stakeholders, will select the winners amongst the shortlisted candidates. The winning projects will be handed the Award by the Commissioner for Energy at a prestigious Awards Ceremony
